Kate advises clients on a wide spectre of family law matters, including divorce, separation and cohabitation claims. She has experience of working with same-sex couples and understands the nuances of their relationships. She is passionate about ensuring individuals interests are protected through the preparation of pre- and post- nuptial and cohabitation agreements.

Kate is often instructed in child law cases, dealing with matters such as contact, residence, relocation and adoption. She endeavours, where possible, to resolve cases through negotiation, in an effort to best protect a successful co-parenting relationship moving forward. If court proceedings are required, she is an experienced litigator having appeared in Sheriff Courts across Scotland, from Lerwick to Edinburgh. Kate also has experience of instructing Counsel in complex and high value Court of Session cases, including Hague Convention child abduction cases.

Kate is a collaboratively trained lawyer and thrives when working as part of a team. She enjoys collaborating with financial advisors, pension experts and divorce coaches to ensure a client's every need is met. Clients describe Kate as being "incredibly efficient, calm and reassuring". They appreciate her guidance through "unfamiliar territory" and her taking the time to have "an understanding of their individual circumstances".
